The project New Hope - young people without adequate parental care create souvenirs and learn about self-employment
23. June 2016.
The project New Hope was made with the goal of acquiring candle and souvenir skills for young people without parental care, but also to learn how to sell them and the basics of self-employment. The project is realized by the Center Star in partnership with the associations Do it together and My Circle, with the financial support of the Trag Foundation and the Kinderperspectief Foundation from the Netherlands. Workshops are carried out within groups that include 10 to 15 young people without adequate parental care. They are held in the House of Opportunity in Belgrade and Nis and in the Center for Family Accommodation and Adoption of Kragujevac. The workshops are educational and interactive, because the participants of the project have the opportunity to interact with each other. Souvenirs made by young people during these workshops will be shown at the exhibition in Kragujevac, which is planned for September. In addition, the project is designed so that young people will attend training in order to acquire the knowledge necessary for self-employment in the field of business idea design, budgeting, but also sales and product promotion. One of the goals of the New Hope project is to get acquainted with the House of Opportunity support program for young people without adequate parental care in the process of becoming independent.
